Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 July 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Tainath Limited, a company registered in Ireland (company number 798882), registered address 31 Oak Park Drive, Naas, W91 Y72R, Ireland ("SyncSplit", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using SyncSplit, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
1. The service
SyncSplit is a mobile application that helps two people track shared and personal expenses, split costs, and settle up. You enter your expenses manually; SyncSplit does not connect to any bank account and does not provide financial, tax, accounting, or legal advice. It is a record-keeping tool, and you are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for any decisions you make based on it.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use SyncSplit. Each person may hold one account, and you must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your account and device credentials secure.
3. Households
SyncSplit lets you link your account with one partner to form a household and share expenses. When you share an expense, invite a partner, or join a household, the other member can see the shared information. Only invite people you intend to share financial information with. Balances and settlement records that SyncSplit calculates are a convenience for the two of you; they are not a legally binding determination of debt between you.
4. Subscriptions and payment
Some features may require a paid subscription. Where they do, payment is collected and processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms, not by us; we never receive your payment-card details. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your App Store or Google Play account, and you manage or cancel them there. Refunds are governed by the store's policies. This agreement governs your use of the service itself, whatever the payment channel.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use SyncSplit for any unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose;
- share, resell, or provide access to your account to others, or operate multiple accounts to circumvent limits;
- attempt to access, probe, or disrupt our systems, reverse-engineer the app, or interfere with other users;
- upload content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or that put the service or other users at risk.
6. Your data
Your privacy matters and is covered in detail by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. You retain ownership of the data you enter. You grant us the limited rights needed to store and process it in order to provide the service.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep SyncSplit available and reliable, but we provide it "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features from time to time. Where we make a material change to the service or these terms, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SyncSplit is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Termination
You can stop using SyncSplit and delete your account at any time from within the app. On deletion, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. We may terminate or suspend your access if you breach these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
